This year as part of Year 10 Outdoor Education, students attended one compulsory overnight navigation and coasteering camp on Bruny Island in addition to selecting two camps from the following options: bushwalking in Pine Valley, rock climbing at Sand River, mountain biking at Derby, snow camping at Mount Field, walking the Overland Track in winter and whitewater paddling in North-West Tasmania.
Congratulations to William Rumley (Year 7) who recently travelled to Victoria to receive a medal presented by Her Excellency the Honourable Linda Dessau AC Governor of Victoria for achieving a score in the top 0.01% of candidates across Australia in the Australian Mathematics Competition.
Congratulations to Oliver Burrows-Cheng (School Captain) and Mackenzie Evans (Year 12 Prefect) who have both received scholarships to attend Bond University in 2020.
On Thursday 31 October the 2019 Leavers’ Luncheon was held in Burbury House where the Year 12 students were welcomed as Hutchins Old Boys.

We had perfect weather on Monday 14 October 2019 for the Junior School Athletics Carnival which was once again one of the highlights on the sporting calendar.
The International da Vinci Decathlon is held every two years in Italy and this year Hutchins was fortunate to be invited for the first time.
In Term 3 I was lucky enough to be a part of the 2019 Central Australia Challenge. This was an amazing experience and think I can speak on behalf of all the students who went, that this was one of the most enriching experiences of our lives.
