From the 5th to 23rd April 2018, seventeen Year 10/11 students and three staff members visited China on our biennial language and culture immersion tour.

Each year we commemorate the sacrifices and courage shown by thousands of young Australians and New Zealanders at the annual ANZAC services across this country and on the fields in far-away lands where Australian and New Zealand troops fought so bravely.
Last Wednesday Paul Dillon made his annual visit to Hutchins to address our Year 10, 11 and 12 students. Paul has been working in the area of drug education for the past 25 years.

All Year 2 students have the opportunity to be a leader in the ELC. Throughout the year, boys will take on the responsibility and rotate through the following leadership roles: Playground Leaders, Charity Leaders, and Sustainability/Green Team Leaders.
The Hutchins School Senior Dance Troupe competed in the Regional heats for Dance Life Unite on the weekend and were successful in qualifying for Nationals after winning both their Lyrical and Musical Theatre Sections.
Our Pre-Kinder and Kinder boys have been preparing for Easter with their teachers and teacher aides over the past few weeks.
Our Prefects have worked hard to raise awareness of violence against women. Our work with White Ribbon Australia to stop violence against women has seen students take an active role in awareness raising and advocacy.
Our ELC Grandparents’ Day is one of our favourite events for the year. On Friday over 350 grandparents, parents, carers and special friends filled the auditorium for a concert followed by morning tea and a visit to the ELC classrooms and Book Fair.
Outstanding result at the War Memorial Oval today with our cricketers claiming the title for the first time in 8 years.
