Young National Historian of the Year

Angus Christie, Young National Historian of the Year (large)

Congratulations to Year 5 student Angus Christie who was awarded Young National Historian of the Year – 2014 in December.

Angus won over all older students, is now the youngest ever to receive the award and delivered a wonderful acceptance speech in front of 100 people. Tasmanian National History Challenge Coordinator Angelique Bowe said that “This young man is an absolute champion. Angus impressed everyone with his grace, humility, humble and genuine personal pride, and poise and calm acceptance. He addressed an audience of around 100 people, mainly adults with aplomb and little evidence of any nerves! And that, on top of producing an authentic historical research response to a difficult theme “Changing Perspectives” that saw over 7000 entries from P to Year 12 whittled down to just one – his! Well done little champ! You and your family can be justifiably very, very proud!”

Well done Angus what an amazing achievement!
