Young Leaders fight against Climate Change

Year 12 students, Rhys Evans, Angus McIntosh, Cameron Urquhart, and Alex Stephens with Costa Georgiadis at the Tasmanian Youth Climate Leaders Conference.

On Monday 18 March 2019, Year 12 students, Rhys Evans, Angus McIntosh, Cameron Urquhart, and Alex Stephens attended the Tasmanian Youth Climate Leaders Conference at Hobart College, along with Science Teacher Dr Michaela Guest.

The boys heard talks from a range of educators, scientists and presenters to inform students about the current impacts of climate change. They then participated in workshops on issues of waste management, energy, strategies for change and climate action, to explore opportunities to help ameliorate the threats.

The boys are pictured with Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia, who was an energetic and inspirational presenter and Mentor throughout the day.

The boys will revisit the conference in September with a report about what they have been able to achieve in our school community.

To learn more about the opportunities we provide for boys to become their best, contact our Enrolments Assistant, submit an online Enquiry form or phone 03 6221 4236. We encourage you to book a tour with our Registrar as this is the best way to see our School in action. Read more…
