Daniel Mackintosh (Ben Chuck ‘Good Man’ Award winner and Ewan Sloan (School Captain and Dux of the School)

On Tuesday 8 December we celebrated our Leavers of 2020 at the Federation Concert Hall for Year 12 Speech Night. This was a great event for Year 12 leavers, their families and staff to celebrate the end of school life. Guests were entertained by a performance from Shenghong (Xuehong Zhu) on the piano, Year 12 reflections video, Bluenote music video, Middle and Senior School Singers video and a beautiful dance presentation from George Pongco. Congratulations to all prize winners and to all 2020 Leavers.

At this event the Ben Chuck ‘Good Man’ Award and the E M Lilley Memorial Prize for Dux of the School were presented to deserving Year 12 students.

The Ben Chuck ‘Good Man’ Award is a Year 12 award voted on by the Class of 2020. It is named in honour of Ben Chuck, an Old Boy of Hutchins who tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash while serving in Afghanistan. Like Ben, a good man possesses the qualities of integrity, compassion, humility courage and kindness. We congratulate Daniel Mackintosh (Year 12) on receiving this award in 2020.

The E M Lilley Memorial Prize for Dux of the School was presented to Ewan Sloan (Year 12). Congratulations to Daniel and Ewan on your achievements in 2020.
