Webber Lecture 2017

Lieutenant General David Morrison AO.

The Headmaster cordially invites you to attend this years’ Webber Lecture with guest speaker Australian of the Year 2016 – Lieutenant General David Morrison AO.

TOPIC – Finding the language of change: an ethical approach to growing an appreciation of diversity and inclusion.

Monday 22 May 2017 – Terence Butler Auditorium, 7.00pm.

In his tenure at the top of the Australian Army, David has faced many leadership challenges but is probably best known for his strong public stance on gender equality and leading cultural change in large organisations. This lecture will focus on the power of words and storytelling. David will share his personal account of addressing issues of military culture and what worked, what didn’t and more importantly the reasons why, which he believes has applicability across many organisations. Culture is founded on the stories we tell ourselves about ourselves, and attention to language is a critical attribute of effective leadership.

This is a free public seminar however seats are limited. Please book tickets online by Wednesday 17 May 2017.
