Well done to The Hutchins School Year 12 boys on their tremendous effort this year to raise a grand total of $15,000 for SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY.

‘This year the Prefects decided to support the local charity SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY. We feel that mental health, in particular, the supportive, compassionate and inter-connected messages Stay ChatTY spreads is vital for both our local and school community. We aimed to use our theme of courage to inspire boys to be able to find it within themselves to look after both themselves and others by consistently having conversations and knowing it is OK, to not be OK. The fundraising through various initiatives like a Mother’s Day Breakfast, Grand Final Day Breakfast and a quiz night, for example, led to a tally of $15,000. These events weren’t just about raising money but awareness; and about making a positive impact on the School’s culture.’ – Fergus Charles, School Captain.
