Severe weather conditions in Hobart for Monday 17 August 2015

Early Learning Centre with snow on kunanyi / Mount Wellington

The confirmed forecast at 6.00pm today for tomorrow, Monday 17 August, is for severe weather conditions in Hobart and outer areas including the south and south east (weather report: Willyweather and Australian Bureau of Meteorology at 6.00pm on 16 August 2015).

The forecast for tomorrow is partly cloudy, high (70%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon, with possible hail. Snow falling above 100 metres early then slowly rising during the day. Winds west to southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h.

Unless the weather forecast further deteriorates, the School will be open tomorrow (Monday) and will conduct a modified program if student and staff attendance is low. All after school co-curricular activities will not be conducted tomorrow.

In the event of a student not being able to get home due to severe conditions the school offers the possibility of an overnight stay in Burbury House, the School’s boarding facility.

If, in your judgement, it is not safe to travel to or from School and the weather conditions are a concern to you, it is best boys remain at home.

The school will communicate tomorrow morning via:

Yours sincerely

Mr Warwick Dean
Headmaster
