Professional Learning Week
In preparations for the beginning of the school year our teachers and support staff participate in Professional Learning Week. The week includes presentations on a myriad of subjects by staff members and external training organisations.
A highlight of the week was the Rite of Passage presentation and workshop delivered by Dr Arne Rubinstein. Dr Rubenstein is a former GP, a part-time ER doctor and founder and former CEO of Uplifting Australia. He is also an internationally recognised expert in the field of Rites of Passage and delivers highly valuable and inspiring presentations about the transition from ‘boy to young man’. And girl to young woman. He is an expert on adolescent development and modern day Rites of Passage and is the author of The Making of Men – Raising boys to be happy, healthy and successful.
The positive feedback from the presentation was overwhelming and attendees commented that Dr Rubinstein was both informative and inspirational, highlighting the challenges that our students currently face or will face in the future.
