The Hutchins School Prefects Mother’s Day Breakfast

Thomas Dunbabin, School Captain, Rosie Martin, and William Smith, School Vice-Captain.

The Hutchins School Prefects Mother’s Day Breakfast was once again one of our most popular events of the year with over 200 mums, carers, grandmothers, friends, mentors and students in attendance at Burbury House this morning.

This year our guest speaker was Rosie Martin, Tasmanian Australian of the Year for 2017, and the founding speech pathologist of Chatter Matters Tasmania, a charity building awareness and skills in human communication. Through Chatter Matters, Rosie has been volunteering to deliver Just Sentences, a pilot project that is achieving astounding results working to rehabilitate people at Risdon Prison. Rosie spoke about Chatter Matters, love, kindness and support of mums in prison.

Thank you to Rosie for being our guest speaker today. Thanks also to our Prefects, our students who provided service for the breakfast, our catering staff and our Community Relations team. Most importantly thank you to our mums, carers, grandmothers, friends, mentors and students who came together to celebrate Mother’s Day.
