Lowering the temperature to raise awareness for mental health

Freezin’ for a Reason 2018

This morning, The Hutchins Senior School community joined together to make a difference for our 2018 chosen charity Speak Up Stay ChatTy by Freezin’ for a Reason at Nutgrove Beach. Freezin’ for a Reason has become an annual event on the Hutchins Senior School calendar and we use it as a means to draw attention to those causes dear to us. Mental health and the increasing prevalence of suicide amongst adolescents is a serious issue affecting many communities and this year with our relationship and support of Speak Up Stay ChatTy we have held numerous events, both fundraising and awareness raising, with a focus on the importance of having genuine conversations with our friends and work colleagues and being prepared to look out for one another. In this morning’s event, by braving the cold, we show that we care.
