Jan Reynolds memorial and plaque unveiling

Jan Reynolds’ son William Reynolds (’89), husband Barry Reynolds, and daughters, Amelia Reynolds and Felicity Allison.

The Hutchins School had the privilege of honouring Jan Reynolds, known for her dedication to the wellbeing of boys as a teacher in the Early Learning Centre, commencing in 1975 and then as the Teacher-in-Charge of Preparatory School in 1989.

Jan’s lustrous career spanned 23 years. She created an ever continuous “hive of activity for boys in her sub-primary section of the school, where students could never complain of boredom” according to John Anderson, former Head of Junior School. “Jan was always there, bubbling with enthusiasm.”

This was evident in the remembering of Jan through her children and grandchildren at the plaque unveiling ceremony held at Hutchins on Tuesday 9 August. Jan passed away almost a year ago on 28 August 2021, however her memories live on in so many and were shared joyfully on this celebratory afternoon of her life.

Thank you to her husband Barry, children Amelia, Felicity and William (’89) and four grandchildren for allowing us to honour her in The Hutchins School Early Learning Centre.
