Hutchins places 2nd in the Interdominion School Teams Racing Regatta

Back row – Miss Louise Watson, Will Cooper, Charles Zeeman and Nicholas Smart. Front row – Gus Wilkie, Oliver Hugo, Charles Salmon, Edward Broadby and Rohan Langford.

Congratulations to our students who competed in the Interdominion School Teams Racing Regatta this week!

After two days of practice and four days of competition, the boys finished in 2nd place overall. They battled it out against the top three New Zealand teams, and the top three Australian teams. They encountered all types of weather: not enough wind, too much wind, rain and sometimes what seemed like snow. They even had a visit from some humpback whales as well!

The boys all sailed incredibly well, and displayed some wonderful sportsmanship. The boys who competed are:

  • Year 12 – Nicholas Smart, Will Cooper
  • Year 11 – Charles Zeeman
  • Year 9 – Oliver Hugo
  • Year 8 – Charlie Salmon
  • Year 7 – Gus Wilkie, Edward Broadby

A huge thank you to coach and Old Boy Rohan Langford (’09) and to Miss Louise Watson who looked after the boys during the regatta.
