On Wednesday 11 June 2025, The Hutchins School held a deeply significant Reinterment Service at Cornelian Bay to honour nearly 2,000 individuals whose remains were uncovered during the construction of the N J Edwards Hub.
During the Term 1 school holidays, William Bowman, Alfie Dixon, Otto Ford, Leon Gelman, Joshua Pawlus, Marcus Spiteri (all Year 11), Sarttra (Todman) Malayanond (Year 12), along with Dr Rob McEwan and Mr Greg Stanton, travelled to Oxford, UK to participate in Round Square Inspiring Voices – The Big Baraza.

We are celebrating winning the International Education and Training Award at the recent Tasmanian Export Awards 2024!
This edition celebrates our community and commitment to learning, provides an update on developments within the School, as well as the activities and achievements of our current students.
We are excited to announce that the recent repurpose of the early learning space at The Hutchins School, designed by architect Rosevear Stephenson, received an award for Educational Architecture at this year’s Tasmanian Architecture Awards.
At the end of Term 1, eight students travelled to Munich, Germany, with Mr Mike Webster and Rev Dr Lee Weissel to participate in a Round Square conference on Democracy at Landheim Ammersee, an international boarding school.
In a state first, The Hutchins School in partnership with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, is offering our Senior School students the chance to participate in a Conducting Academy.
