Year 8 Projects

Lucas Dooley with his restored Ford Escort

Year 8 Projects are a significant component of our students’ personal development in the Middle School. They are encouraged to follow a passion or try something new, with the aim to develop skills of perseverance, determination, time management, resilience as well as personal gratification.

After much deliberation, procrastination, some tears, personal challenges and last-minute panic, Year 8 Projects are complete. Last week students showcased their 20 weeks of work at the Year 8 Expo. The project is a major piece of student negotiated work involving planning, research and personal reflection. Each project undertaken involves at least 25 hours of work and we are so proud of the students and their approach to the task. Well done to all our Year 8 students!

Peoples’ Choice winners were Lucas Dooley – Ford Escort restoration, Hamish Harris – GPO Lego build, and Charlie Harris – Huon Pine resin lamp.
