Year 12 supporting The Smith Family
This year our Year 12 group chose to support The Smith Family through various fundraising and service based initiatives. The boys have not only raised awareness of the work that The Smith Family does within the community, but have also participated in their Student2Student reading program, where students are buddied up and participate in a telephone call 2–3 times a week over an 18 week period, assisting with their reading.
In last week’s Headmaster’s Assembly, Year 12 presented Lesley Mackay from The Smith Family with their final donation: an outstanding $19,384 which they have raised during various fundraising events throughout the year including the Swimathon ‘Make a Splash, Leave a Ripple’, Mother’s Day Breakfast, Grand Final Breakfast, Freezin’ for a Reason and a generous donation of $1,000 from the Hutchins School Old Boys’ Association.
We congratulate the Year 12 group on this fantastic achievement and thank them for their dedication and leadership shown during the year!
