SSATIS Athletics Carnival

U14 and U16 boys at the SSATIS Athletics Carnival

On Tuesday 9 September 2020 the Hutchins Athletics team competed in the Southern SATIS Athletics Carnival.

With restrictions in place due to COVID-19, Hutchins were able to field a team of 53 Athletes across Years 7–12. The boys had been training both at the Domain and at School over the past month in preparation for this Carnival. The U14 and U16 Age Groups competed in the morning session with the Open Boys competing in the afternoon.

On a blustery day spring day, the boys participated exceptionally well across all events with several obtaining their personal best. Congratulations to Tommy Bennett (Year 8), Henry Madsen (Year 9), Zac Phair (Year 11) and Isaac Bonsey (Year 8) for gaining overall 1st place in their individual events.

Well done to all the boys with the effort they have shown. They now have the opportunity to compete in the State All Schools later in the year. As a team we have appreciated the help from staff, coaches and parents/carers throughout the athletic program in 2020.
