Hutchins Young Physicists have success at Australian IYPT Challenge

Year 10 students Brendan Heatley-Hart, Raiden Lemon, Sudhaunshu Hardikar and Mr Peter Crofts (Head of Faculty)

The Hutchins physics team of Raiden Lemon, Sudhaunshu Hardikar and Brendan Heatley-Hart (all year 10) competed in Brisbane earlier this week at the IYPT Australian Challenge. The purpose of the Challenge is to select the 5 member team for the International Young Physicists’ Tournament in Beijing in 2018.

The Hutchins team came 2nd, a fantastic effort considering they were competing against Year 11 students.

Raiden has been offered a place in the Australian team to go to Beijing, and Sudhaunshu has been nominated as a reserve. Brendan’s scores were in the top 7 overall individual scores, just outside the reserve list.
