Hobart City (Secondary) Interschool Chess Competition
The Hutchins School hosted the Hobart City (Secondary) Interschool Chess Competition on Monday 26 June.
A team of our students, consisting of William Rumley (Year 11), Thomas Wilkinson (Year 10), Felix Yang (Year 9), Yunqi (William) Wang (Year 9), Yiming Wang (Year 9), Lachlan Hanna (Year 9), Riley Bowden (Year 11), Lucas Akl (Year 10), Lucas Baumwol (Year 10) and Alexander Kabalan (Year 8) won as a team by a large margin and they will compete in the state finals in Launceston later this year.
Congratulations are for Riley Bowden and William Rumley for achieving a perfect score of 7 points, indicating their undefeated performance in every round! Congratulations to all students and staff for a wonderful competition!
