Bazza’s oval

L–R Barrie, Craig, Greg and Di Irons. (large)

On 13 April 2017 the oval previously known as the South Oval was officially named the Barrie Irons Oval in honour of retired Deputy Headmaster and Registrar, Mr Barrie Irons.

On a beautiful autumn day 70 guests attended the official naming of the oval and celebrated Barrie’s many contributions to The Hutchins School. Mr David Brammall, previous Deputy Headmaster, shared with the guests an amusing recount of Barrie’s time at Hutchins which included numerous cricket tour stories. We were fortunate to have in attendance Barrie’s wife Di, his sons Greg and Craig, along with their partners and granddaughter Rosalie.
