Old Boys

Using the Online Directory

The online directory enables Old Boys to get in touch with each other.  You can log-on using the window on the right.  Just enter your email address and password.

If you have not previously registered, simply click on the "First Time?" link (just below the password box). You'll be asked to provide your surname, first name (please use your formal name, e.g. William not Bill), date of birth and alumni year (the year you left - or would have left - Year 12) to match you with the list of past students.

150 Years of Hutchins Old Boys

November marks 150 years since the first formal gathering of Old Boys on 22 November 1859. On that date, there was a cricket match between past and present students, a half day holiday for the boys (to watch the cricket), and in the evening a Dinner at Webb's Hotel (now Hadley's).

This year's Ray Vincent Lunch was held at Hadley's on 27 November to mark the occasion - there would be very few organisations which can celebrate their sesquicentanary dinner at the same venue as the first function.

Chris Rae announced as 2010 Ivied Tower Award recipient

Current staff member and 1966 leaver Chris Rae is the 2010 Ivied Tower Award recipient. The Ivied Tower Award is to recognise an Old Boy of Hutchins who has achieved great things in their chosen field of endeavour.

Chris has been on the teaching staff at Hutchins since 1972, and has held many roles including Head of Boarding, Head of School House and Head of Senior School, as well as making a major contribution as coach of Australian Rules.

There's no doubt that Chris's contribution to the School and to the boys has been outstanding over a long period of time... he's almost the Mr Chips of Hutchins. Not only has he been concerned with the academic side of things, but in his long service to coaching football and espousing the concept of team before individual and the right and wrong way to go about life ... he has been a major influence on the lives of literally thousands of boys.
