National Geography Competition Success

Henry West receives his Geography Competition Prize from Acting Headmaster Barrie Irons at the Headmaster's Assembly.

This year all students in the pre-tertiary Geography class and other interested students sat The Australian Geography Competition test.

The annual competition consists of a multiple choice test to determine geographical knowledge and skills.

Of the three Year 9 students who sat the test, two achieved High Distinctions: Ian Fulton and Andrew Mackay.

In the pre-tertiary class, four Hutchins students achieved High Distinctions: James Francis-Smith, Charles Haward, Justin Hennessy and Henry West.

Henry West also placed first in the senior division for Tasmania, receiving a book prize and a medal.
