Mother’s Day Breakfast

The Hutchins School Prefects invited mothers, grandmothers, aunties, friends and carers to join us for this morning’s Mother’s Day Breakfast which was held in Burbury House.

Our guest speaker this year was Allana Corbin who shared with us her story of courage after being left an ‘incomplete paraplegic’ as the result of a catastrophic plane crash. Allana made a miraculous recovery after being told she would never walk again and her inspirational story captivated the audience of over 130 guests. In particular, her determination to return to the skies led her to become the first woman to circumnavigate Australia solo in a helicopter in 1997.

As Public Relations Manager for Rotor-Lift, Allana was responsible for establishing The Tasmanian Air Rescue Trust, charity set up to equip Tasmania’s Air Rescue Helicopter with the highest standard of medial and rescue equipment.

We would like to thank Allana for visiting us today and to our Prefects for organising a wonderful breakfast event.
