Over 600 participants help set beep test world record

It was an amazing sight at the War Memorial Oval on Monday 8 September when more than 600 students, teachers and staff made an attempt at the Guinness World Record for the most participants in a beep test.

Witnesses to the attempt were Lord Mayor Damon Thomas, Deputy Lord Mayor Ron Christie and Nathan Pitchford from AFL Tasmania.

SRC representatives Liam Johnston and Ryan Jones, along with many helpers, delivered an exceptionally well organised event and were on hand for interviews with media afterwards. Monies raised from the event will be donated to Loui’s Van, Cancer Council and World Vision Syrian Children’s Appeal.

With the unofficial count being over 600 participants we are hopeful that the record has been broken! Stay tuned for what we hope is confirmation of the new record.
